Julie Hansen, a leading real estate professional with Coldwell Banker Devonshire in Cherry Creek, was featured in a live 9News interview with reporter Gregg Moss broadcast during the NBC station’s early morning show on Monday, October 24.  The interview highlighted Hansen’s new book titled Act Like a Sales Pro.

Act Like a Sales Pro tells readers how to find their authentic self within their business role for greater confidence and sales success.  Hansen, who is also an actor, told the 9News audience that sales people can use elements of drama to help them get in the door.  Actors, she said, have the ability to connect with an audience – essential qualities for businesspeople in today’s competitive market.

“Improv is an excellent tool for sales success,” said Hansen.  “It helps you establish a connection with someone and also deal with rejection.  The ability to stand out is very important whether you’re trying to close a sale or get a job.  You can make a connection quickly and set yourself apart.”

According to Hansen, great salespeople and great actors share two characteristics… persuasion and engagement.  Acting, like sales, is about communicating with intention and influencing behavior.  Act Like a Sales Pro shows readers how to make the first sale in seven seconds, gain the appointment using audition techniques, and draw interest from reluctant prospects using secrets of the performer.  The book is available at Barnes and Noble, http://www.barnesandnoble.com and Amazon at http://www.amazon.com.
