Coldwell Banker Devonshire, part of the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage family in Colorado, hosted its first annual Cherry Creek Garden Tour on Saturday, June 25, 2011.  Approximately 650 participants toured nine properties showcasing unique gardens in the Cherry Creek neighborhood, helping raise more than $5,000 for the Colorado Homeless Families organization.

“I want to personally thank everyone for their fantastic support that helped make our first annual garden tour such an overwhelming success,” said Robert Shearman, managing broker of Coldwell Banker Devonshire.  “I have never been involved with an event that had such an outpouring of positive comments and congratulatory remarks.  The volunteers, committee members and Coldwell Banker management worked exceedingly hard to produce an event that was truly worthy of Coldwell Banker Devonshire’s high standards.  This is a proud moment for everyone in our company.”

The Coldwell Banker Devonshire Cherry Creek Garden Tour, also known as Le Petit Jardin, which is French for “little garden,” was held in conjunction with a free festival on the new Fillmore Plaza.  Agents with Coldwell Banker Devonshire were stationed at each tour destination to greet the attendees, and gardeners were on hand to answer questions.  The recipient charity, Colorado Homeless Families, is a non-profit organization whose mission it is to provide housing and supportive services for homeless families with children.  For more information visit http://www.chfrb.org.

“Each of the nine property owners on the tour had a different element of gardening to share,” said Suzy Whittemore, a leading broker associate with Coldwell Banker Devonshire and chairman of the garden tour. “Most of the gardens in Cherry Creek are quite small because there are more townhomes than single-family homes.  The various garden themes included shade, sun, terraced, vertical challenges, and confined urban settings.  The homeowners were all fantastic and we sincerely thank them for opening their gardens to the public.”

The day ended at the NorthCreek development in conjunction with the re-opening of Fillmore Plaza where attendees enjoyed a free glass of wine from Pasta, Pasta, Pasta while enjoying the festivities.
