Robert Shearman, one of Colorado’s most experienced and successful real estate professionals, has joined Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage as managing broker of the company’s Devonshire office in Cherry Creek.  Known for his market knowledge and leadership skills, Shearman is now leading one of the top-producing real estate offices in metro Denver.

Shearman earned his real estate license in 1983.  From 1981 to 1997, he was involved with three large residential home building corporations in Chicago.  Shearman’s initial responsibilities included architectural and engineering design of the builders’ production homes.  Starting in 1986, he was responsible for sales and production management for two additional production builders.  Shearman handled more than 1,800 closings prior moving to Boulder, Colorado, where he built between 20 and 25 homes per year. 

In 1998, Shearman joined Coldwell Banker Van Schaack before moving to Coldwell Banker Colorado Landmark where he was acknowledged as the company’s first broker to sell an estate property in Boulder County for more than $2.5 million.  His professional background includes serving as employing broker for Legendary Properties, which was acquired by the Sotheby’s franchise in 2004 to become Legendary Properties Sotheby’s International Realty.  Shearman helped evolve the company into Fuller Sotheby’s International Realty. 

Shearman is recognized as one of the leading equestrian show riders and trainers in the United States.  His field of expertise was Olympic level dressage and combined training.  Shearman also held a teaching certificate in therapeutic riding for disabled children.  From 1972 to 1979, he helped found and run the philanthropic Friends of Handicapped Riders, a large, nonprofit organization that provides therapeutic equestrian instruction for more than 200 disabled children weekly.  Shearman attended Miami University in Ohio and holds a pilots license.
